Featuring Yamaha's expressive 76-key semi-weighted keyboard, the MODX7 boasts powerful technologies inherited from Yamaha's flagship Montage series. The new MODX series features numerous state-of-the-art upgrades over its MOXF predecessors, including the AWM2 sample and synthesis engine equipped with eight times more waveforms, a powerful new eight-operator FM-X engine modernized for amazingly dynamic sound and complex sound design, and Motion Control Synthesis for seamless integration and powerful control of both sound engines.In addition to the powerful synth engines, the MODX 8 is loaded with sophisticated features (many carried over from the Montage series), including the Super Knob, which allows you to control multiple parameters simultaneously. Or the ability to send ten audio channels and 16 MIDI channels to and from a computer or iOS device via USB, Live Sets that let you organize performances without copying, renaming, or changing the order, and an A/D input that processes external audio sources through the MODX DSP. Also on board is Yamaha's Motion Sequences function, which controls synthesizer parameters via rhythmic control data that can be interacted with intuitively in real time; an Envelope Follower, which allows internal or external audio to be used as a control source for synthesizer parameters; and a Vocoder effect that recreates the classic voice synth sound. Four-part seamless sound switching, capacity for 27 simultaneous effects, a built-in 4-in/10-out audio interface, and 1 GB of internal flash memory round out this workstation's features.
