EMG 40J
The EMG 40J is an original J pickup in a extended series housing for 5-string basses. It has its coil located in the back of the housing - closer to the bridge, giving it sweeping harmonic overtones and a bigger punch. This quiet pickup has classic jazz bass characteristics with a broader tonal frequency range, which adds dimensions and clarity.
EMG's design has a very low ratio of resistance to inductance, which increases the low end response, while the radiused ceramic bar magnet ensures the tone of keeping a tight midrange punch with a dynamic high-end.
This model uses an extended housing of 4 inches (102 mm). For 5-string basses.
