Seymour Duncan's SMB-5A captures the feel and warmth of the original classic. All the vintage ‘70s MM-Style tone can be found withinthis version, which uses oversized Alnico V rod magnets, together with unique coil windings - all delivering an extended response at both treble and bass ends of the frequency spectrum. Compared with the ceramic version, this pickup is both warmer on the bottom and more detailed at the top. This is the tone, that changed funk, rock and slap forever.
It'a 5-string drop-in replacement for original MM-style instruments. Might fit other instruments, however a correct comparison of dimension is advised. Not for use with instruments, having a 3-way blade switch.
Hand built in Santa Barbara, CA - the SMB-5A uses Alnico V rod magnets and is wax-potted for a squeal-free operation.
